Thin Sections from Drill Cuttings
Drill Cuttings Vacuum Impregnated for thin sectioning Thin Sections from Impregnated Cuttings Blocks
Thin sections can be a very useful tool for mud loggers and wellsite geologists.
Thin sections can be prepared from small sample cuts or individual grains.
Reference thin sections of fine grained rock that is difficult to describe, can be viewed with a binocular microscope.
A petrographic microscope is not required to see the textures revealed in thin section.
A few reference thin sections of cuttings from adjacent wells can can make you more confident and accurate in your lithology descriptions especially when you are drilling fast.
